Last summer, Australian artist Ellen Bryant tweeted, “Moving to Toronto in August – few contacts, no job. Pursuing my art – the reason I’m here.” Fulfilling her life’s purpose, one note at a time, Ellen weaves jazz, blues, soul and pop into her graceful sound. Citing a vast range of influences and international production credits in the process, diversity is the core of her approach. Why did Ellen pack her bags and hop on a plane? Risk is inevitable when producing art, and sure, our city is an incubator right now. But everyone has a unique story. Which is why we sat down with Ellen so she could share her own.
