Toronto's music collective from the #878 are pushing their name in the fashion game with one of the world's biggest name-brands.
Converse selected SAFE, Smoke Dawg and Puffy L'z to rock their ChuckII gum sneakers in a new campaign, shot on location in the Yorkdale subway station, catching eyes of passers-by and those who take the TTC on the daily. The crisp photos depict the city's OVO/XO affiliates in balanced casual-cool ensembles complimented by the classic sneaker. We're loving the high contrast navy blue canvas shoe with brown sole against the beautifully-lit backdrop of a well known locale.
The skylight platform, long tunnel to the mall, yellow barrier and red felt seats immediately bring a sense of home. Pair this with great music, and respected locals, and you have a strong campaign. It's really great to see an international brand promote local up-and-comers, rather than going directly to the mainstream. Kudos to the person that fixed this! The 878 Dreamteam are already on their own level, but this platform (literally and figuratively) will definitely take them to the next.
