Just John makes some noise on the road in visuals for Soundboi

If you've been following Just John since the release of his Black Beret EP (or from time, for that matter...) you'll know he's been making moves. Whether curating or hosting events through his collective, Blank Canvas, partnering with other local creatives and expanding the city soundscape, Just John's drive is on fire.

On June 15, he drops his DON EP in collaboration with producer, Dom Dias - one of the album's lead singles, "Soundboi" has been on repeat here at BanTOR Radio - a rowdy-as-fuck club banger that highlights the duo's unique sonic qualities.

Soundboi is the emergence of a fresh genre bending sound coming out of Toronto. The encompassing factor of Soundboi is its manic energy. Just John departs from the unnerving smoothness that marked earlier releases to create an infectious & eccentric club banger that is truly progressive and unconventional with Dom Dias.

The Frocasso-directed piece for the song brings it all to life. The lead star? A light blue '85 Superior Cadillac Hearse, where Just John is seen raging around in middle-of-nowhere land in cowboy boots, making a statement and proclaiming power behind the work on the new EP.

Watch the video below and check out Just John and Dom Dias at NXNE on Thursday, June 14 at SoSo Food Club, where they'll perform as part of Jayemkayem's NXNE Club Land Curator Series. RSVP and details here.
