INTERVIEW: Jake Kivanc

Continuing our series on profiling Toronto creatives promoting the city's music, we present this conversation with Jake Kivanc. The photographer and writer has shot Drake, The Weeknd and dozens of other Toronto artists for Vice and Noisey. Growing up in towns across Ontario he now calls the 416 home. He showed his love for the city with the Toronto Rap Map, a layered project documenting Hip-hop and R&B talent across the GTA. He has since left Vice and is now charting out his own creative path. We talk about photography, Toronto hip-hop, the future of Canadian journalism, Drake stealing photos and more.
